Wildlife translocations at Yookamurra

Wildlife translocations at Yookamurra

There have been four mammal reintroductions and one bird reintroduction within Yookamurra’s feral-free fenced area:

  • Greater Bilby
  • Numbat
  • Burrowing Bettong (Boodie)
  • Brush-tailed Bettong (Woylie)

The populations of all four mammal species are stable or increasing.

The Bush Stone Curlew was also reintroduced in 2013.  The success of this translocation is still being evaluated.
